Karen McBride Karen McBride began her journey in painting after she retired in 2005. She had always wanted to paint and knew her preferred medium would be with watercolor. However, raising children and working full time were her first priorities. Once she began taking classes, she knew this was to be a wonderful new life. She continues to learn and progress and feels great pleasure in seeing the colors flow on paper, allowing the paint to do its own thing with a little help from herself. She sees other artists work and is influenced and inspired by them, but she always tries to make her art unique, feeling her subject and then painting what she feels. She will try other media out of curiosity, but she feels that watercolor will always be her first love.
