Born in Livingston, Montana in 1950 and now residing in Red Lodge, Montana, I have lived all but two years in south central Montana. I have always loved and appreciated this wide open country and its variety of landscapes. Through my art I try to portray my view of this land. I feel the splendor of the Beartooth plateau in morning is no more beautiful than the intricate patterns and colors of the rock, vegetation, snow and sky that combine to create the complete picture. Whether it is an abandoned farmhouse or a deep green pool on Rock Creek, each has its own individual and unique beauty. Instead of limiting subject matter and medium, I enjoy exploring different aspects of art. Most of my work through the years has been in watercolor, working in oil from time to time. In recent years I have been working with wood, primarily creating juniper furniture, but also carving and painting trout, which I present in a variety of ways ranging from simple rock bases to unique functional furniture.
