X-WR-CALDESC:Exhibitions are ever changing at the Carbon County Arts Guild 
 & Depot Gallery in Red Lodge. \n\nAugust 2-29\, 2021 view a spectacular ex
 hibition in the main gallery called\, Women of the West: Art by Maggy Rozy
 cki Hiltner\, Gesine Janzen\, Echo Ukrainetz\, and Arin Waddell. Through p
 ainting\, mixed media sculpture\, woodcuts\, handmade books\, and hand-sti
 tched collage work each woman shares their view of the west. \n\nGesine Ja
 nzen is Associate Professor of Art and Head of Printmaking at Montana Stat
 e University in Bozeman and is inspired by the waterways of the western st
 ates. She says her work “is intended to provoke thought on the many contra
 dictions evident when observing water’s beauty\, enjoying nature tourism\,
  and how water is conserved and managed.”  Red Lodge\, Montana artist Magg
 y Rozycki Hiltner says\, “I’ve tasked myself with questioning the artifact
 s of my culture by changing their context and content. Working with handma
 de remnants of the past\, I repurpose them to comment on the present.” The
 n we have Great Falls artist Echo Ukrainetz who is a native Montanan with 
 a passion for history. She creates art using the process of batik adding l
 ayer upon layer of wax and dye. The fourth woman in the Women of the West 
 exhibition is Sheridan\, Wyoming artist Arin Waddell. Arin  often creates 
 work with a bit of whimsy that contains a stronger message. \n\nJoin us fo
 r a Closing Reception\, 1-3 p.m.\, Sunday\, August 29\, 2021. This event i
 s free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.\n\nHours are
  10 a.m. to 5 p.m.\, Thursday\, Friday and Saturday and 12-4 p.m.\, Sunday
  and Monday.\n\nThis exhibition is organized by Carbon County Arts Guild &
  Depot Gallery and is supported in part by grants from the Montana Arts Co
 uncil\, the Coal Tax Trust Fund for Cultural and Aesthetic Projects\, and 
 the National Endowment for the Arts.\n\nCarbon County Arts Guild & Depot G
 allery provides access to art\, supports artistic expression\, and encoura
 ges creative experiences for the enrichment of our communities.
