Coming from a rich background in extremely rural northern Montana along the Missouri River, Carol’s large colorful oil paintings reflect upon the remoteness, the hardships, and the struggles of early Montanans. Hartman’s attempt to capture a way of life that has vanished forever has resulted in three major art series… homesteads, riverboats, and the Rocky Mountains.
