Annual grants and donations to the Carbon County Arts Guild have supported art education programs to rural schools and residents at local senior living facilities. For example, the Tippet Rise Fund of the Sidney E. Frank Foundation has enabled the Guild to pay for an art teacher in some of our rural schools giving the students consistent exposure to the visual arts.
In February 2020, the Arts Guild was awarded funds to participate in the Montana Arts Council (MAC) Artist in Schools and Communities program. The program provided an artist-in-residence for kindergarten through third grade students at Mountain View Elementary. Matching funds for the program came from local sources - Kids Corner and the Red Lodge Lions Club.
Additionally, private contributions help Guild staff teach art programs for older adults in memory care residences. With the restrictions enforced because of COVID-19 at these residences the Guild hopes to raise funds that will enable us to have the technology we need to teach virtually.
