YWS MURAL CONTEST
The Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary is seeking a Carbon County Arts Guild Member to create an original painted mural at the entrance to the Sanctuary. The mural design should welcome guests with vibrant images, featuring YWS wildlife while also directing them to the admission area which is to the right of the sign. Directional graphics and/or words are optional. Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary logo does not need to be included in design. A $1000 dollar stipend will be paid to the winning artist.
SPECIFICATIONS
- Mural Size: 8 feet wide x 43" high, backing board and weather resistant coating will be provided. All other art materials must be provided by the artist.
- Up to 2 concepts each with 1 proportional sketch
- Complete application (below) including concept statement, artist bio and statement and contact information. Artist MUST be a CCAG Member to apply.
- Digital art NOT accepted. Accepted concepts must be hand drawn/painted.
DEADLINE to APPLY: Monday, March 23, 2026, 4 pm - winner will be notified by Monday, March 30.
COMPLETION DEADLINE: Winning design must be completed and ready for installation by Monday, April 27.
There will be a public opening for the mural during the first 2026 ArtWalk, Saturday, May 9 from 2-6 pm. The winning artist is expected to attend this event.
