Broad Spectrum - MAGDA
The exhibition Broad Spectrum is on view at the Carbon County Arts Guild & Depot Gallery March 6-31, 2023. It features art quilts from members of the Montana/Idaho chapter of Studio Arts Quilts Associates, Inc (SAQA). Each piece explores the meaning, images and experiences evoked by the theme Broad Spectrum.
There are works 21 artists represented in this traveling exhibition that were selected through a blind jury process and organized by the Montana State University Northcutt Steele Gallery. The exhibition is accompanied by a full-color catalog with artist statements as well as statements by the juror, Sarah Justice, Executive Director of the Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art, in Great Falls, Montana.
Saturday, March 11, from 1-4 p.m. join us for the Opening Reception of Broad Spectrum. Members of SAQA will be in the gallery to demonstrate art quilt techniques. A gallery talk is at 3 p.m. with Maggy Rozycki Hiltner.
If you miss the event on March 11, then join us Sunday, March 26 from 1-3 p.m. for demonstrations of art quilt techniques and a gallery talk at 2p.m. with Christine Mullaney. Both Christine and Maggy have work in the Broad Spectrum exhibition.
